Just showing it can be done and I never book before the date of the game is confirmed thus having everything booked bar Villa away

Anyway COYI and have a cracking trip up to Leicester.
Always been a good ground for us, so another 3 points would be lovely :o)

I don't live in a box outside St Pancras, so it costs me £23 for a ticket from my house on the coast to the London station before I've even got that train ticket.
And getting in early is all well and good, but modern football means that the cunts change most the the matches to another day or time.
Remember the joy when 20 of us shelled out a load of dosh for a weekend away in Brighton for them to then change it to the Monday night at the last minute.
Train companies don't give a shit and won't always refund.
Christ even QPR has cost me £80 before a beer with an Oyster top up thrown in.
From my point of view I'm not that bothered as I quit the following game after being hard core for so many years, but it has become a very expensive habit for those with little cash.

Leicester has been a bit of a struggle but that was because I normally book for myself but was booking for 4 so farted about a bit.
Southampton was from where I live so I had to go through London.

OK - that makes sense. The only times I've managed to get slightly better prices than yours are for Leicester and Southampton as I have the Network Gold Card (thanks to my Annual TfL Travelcard) so get a third off. That obviously isn't possible for the trips up North.

You done as £28 each way is the cheapest and didn't last long at all.
We're doing the weekend so it's a bit of a cheat and that was £16 Kings Cross to Sunderland Friday morning and back after the game for £28

Most of those are from London, so you can slip on another lady.
Book early, split your journey etc etc and the fares are there although I admit not really for Newcastle because it's bank holiday weekend.

croe - how did you manage to get £44 for Newcastle out of interest? I booked mine as soon as the advance fairs went on sale and that cost £56.80...

It's not so bad if you book them early.
Worst I had in recent years was £140 + to get to Hull - I tried explaining that I wanted a train ticket to the place, not a house.

Cost me 80 quid to get to Newcastle from Basingstoke by train. I just can’t afford that in May with the season ticket as well.

"I was referring to away matches. Tickets are £40-50 nowadays and you'll be lucky to get train travel for less than £70 up north."
Nonsense
I go to all the away games and haven't paid over £70 for a good while and most Northern tickets are under £40

I know for a fact that the last northern away match I went to cost me £131 for the match ticket and train fares.

Agree with croe - stadiums should, first and foremost be designed for the fans who are paying to watch the games.
